Zelenskyy: U.S. sets June deadline for Ukraine-Russia peace talks as Trump plans to pressure both sides
February 7, 2026

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that the United States has set a new June deadline to end the war between Ukraine and Russia. He noted that the Trump administration plans to exert pressure on both sides to meet this timeline, and he suggested holding the next round of three-way peace talks in the US.
Zelenskyy pointed out that a previous deadline set by the US for last August passed without a peace deal being reached. He also mentioned that two days of US-led negotiations held in Abu Dhabi this week failed to produce any major breakthroughs.
