US rejects Iran's conditions for talks as negotiations risk collapse

Talks between the United States and Iran are on the verge of falling apart. The U.S. recently turned down a series of requests from Iran, including a proposal to move the negotiations from Turkey to Oman. Iran had also asked to bar Arab nations from participating in the discussions.
The two sides remain deeply divided over what the meetings should actually cover. Iran maintains that the talks must focus strictly on proving its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes. However, the U.S. is pushing to expand the agenda to include Iran’s ballistic missile development and other security concerns.
A U.S. official confirmed that while the United States is ready to negotiate, any productive discussion must address these broader issues beyond just the nuclear program.
