Three Dead in Back-to-Back Australian Plane Crashes as Safety Officials Launch Investigations
February 7, 2026

Authorities are investigating two separate light plane crashes that occurred across Australia on Friday.
In South Australia, three men were killed after their single-engine Cessna went down in the ocean near Goolwa South. Rescue crews responded to the scene, but there were no survivors.
In a separate incident on the same day, another small aircraft crashed near the town of Normanton in Queensland. Information regarding injuries in that crash has not yet been released.
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB), the national agency responsible for aviation safety, has launched investigations into both accidents to determine their causes.
