An investigation by The Guardian has revealed that the publishing platform Substack is profiting from newsletters that promote Nazi ideology, white supremacy, and antisemitism. Substack collects a 10% cut of subscription fees, including those from accounts like NatSocToday, which displays a swastika and charges its readers $80 a year. After a Guardian researcher subscribed to one such profile, the site's algorithm began recommending several similar accounts. Although these newsletters exist on the platform, Substack's co-founder has previously defended hosting them, claiming the company is committed to free speech as long as writers do not directly incite violence.
