February 7, 2026

Rishi Sunak has identified himself as "British, English, and British Asian" following a rise in racially charged comments against him. His statement comes after a podcaster claimed Sunak was not truly English because he is a "brown-skinned Hindu." Other political figures also seemed to support similar views.
Sunak said the racism he experienced while growing up was "seared in his memory." He warned that Britain must not "slip back" to a time when such language was more common.
