The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) is targeting a criminal organization linked to the Hells Angels through a series of raids that began early this morning. The group is suspected of trafficking cocaine and managing drug territories. Roughly 160 officers, led by the National Organized Crime Suppression Unit, are currently searching about 20 homes and vehicles. These operations are mostly concentrated in Montreal and its northern suburbs, specifically in L’Assomption, Saint-Eustache, L’Épiphanie, Terrebonne, Mascouche, Blainville, and Laval. Raids are also taking place in Trois-Rivières and at two sites in New Brunswick: Rivière-Verte and Saint-Basile.
Police will question the suspects and release them while the investigation, which began in 2023, continues. The SQ plans to provide an inventory of seized items later today and noted that further phases of the operation are expected. Some of the individuals named in the investigation include 51-year-old Michael Polansky, a prospective member of the Trois-Rivières Hells Angels, and Paul Tremblay, a prospective member of the Hells Angels Nomads in New Brunswick. The probe also involves names linked to Salvatore Cazzetta and Jean-Richard Larrivière, as well as 65-year-old Michel Possa, a former member of the Dark Circle who was convicted of conspiracy to commit murder in 1996.
