This article reports on the discovery of two bodies in a Brossard home, where police have concluded that a man killed his partner before taking his own life. The Longueuil police department (SPAL) stated that 54-year-old Sonia Maricela Gonzalez Vasquez was murdered before 56-year-old Marcos Amilcar Diaz Lopez committed suicide.

Officers were called to the house at approximately 12:45 a.m. on Monday, where they discovered the bodies. Both victims showed visible signs of violence. Police also noted that they had responded to calls at this address in the past. According to SPAL, this murder marks the sixth domestic violence homicide reported in Quebec since the start of 2026.
