Newly released emails show that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor stood up for Jeffrey Epstein during a 2010 state visit to the UK. At the time, Mountbatten-Windsor was hosting the event alongside Queen Elizabeth II. The records suggest he tried to introduce Epstein to the Crown Prince of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by reaching out to the foreign minister, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Other messages indicate that Epstein coached Mountbatten-Windsor on how to pitch him to officials. The two men also discussed ways to get around investment rules while Mountbatten-Windsor was acting as a trade representative for the UK. Nothing in the released emails suggests that the UAE officials did anything wrong. Mountbatten-Windsor has consistently denied any involvement in or knowledge of Epstein's crimes.
