New Compound Mic-628 Speeds Up Jet Lag Recovery in Mice
February 8, 2026

This article explores a newly discovered compound called Mic-628 that can reset the body's internal clock. Scientists from several Japanese institutions found that Mic-628 works by attaching to a protein named CRY1, which in turn triggers a core clock gene called Per1. In tests on mice with simulated jet lag, a single dose of the compound cut recovery time from seven days down to four. The researchers now plan to study the safety and effectiveness of the compound in both animals and humans, hoping it can eventually be used to treat jet lag and other sleep-cycle disorders.
