England and Wales are bracing for heavy rain as more than 200 flood alerts remain in effect across the UK. The Met Office has issued a yellow rain warning from noon until midnight on Monday for parts of southern Wales and southern England, with 10 to 30mm of rainfall expected.

The Environment Agency has posted 96 flood warnings and 219 lower-level flood alerts across England, and Natural Resources Wales has added four more alerts of its own. Met Office meteorologist Tom Morgan noted that because the ground is already soaked, this new rainfall could trigger more flooding. He warned that drivers should expect difficult road conditions during the Monday evening rush hour in several regions.
