A motion brought forward by the Bloc Québécois seeks to question him on how he plans to manage his new role, specifically regarding the relationship between Mark Carney’s government and the U.S. and his part in reviewing the Canada-United-States-Mexico Agreement. The Bloc says it wants to clarify Mr. Wiseman’s views on Quebec, accusing him of showing "open contempt" for the province. The party also pointed out that he co-founded the Century Initiative, shared a column advocating for a Canadian population of 100 million people, and has criticized supply management, the system used to regulate Canada’s dairy, poultry, and egg markets.
