A parliamentary committee has begun reviewing files concerning Peter Mandelson’s appointment as the British ambassador to the United States, specifically focusing on his past ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

Lord Beamish, who chairs the Intelligence and Security Committee (ISC), promised the group will push for "maximum transparency." He made it clear that the committee is prepared to release documents even if they cause the government embarrassment.
