Jack Lang resigns following Epstein ties and the launch of a new tax fraud probe

Jack Lang, a veteran of French politics, has resigned from his position as president of the Arab World Institute in Paris. His departure follows the release of documents linking him to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, as well as the start of a new financial probe.
French prosecutors have launched a tax fraud investigation into both Lang and his daughter, Caroline Lang. The inquiry began after their names appeared in the "Epstein files," a collection of court documents detailing the financier's social and professional circles. Both Jack and Caroline Lang have denied any wrongdoing.
According to the released records, Lang exchanged emails and letters with Epstein between 2012 and 2019. Further documents suggest that Epstein named Caroline Lang as a beneficiary in his will. She has stated that she had no knowledge of being included in the estate plans.
