Father slams early deportation of toddler's abuser Roksana Lecka, calling the trial a waste of time

The father of a toddler abused by nursery worker Roksana Lecka has spoken out after learning she will be deported to Poland early. Lecka, a Polish citizen, was originally handed an eight-year prison sentence for child cruelty. However, she is set to be sent back to her home country after serving less than five months. Her early release is part of a government program designed to remove foreign criminals from the UK.
The father expressed deep frustration, stating that the early release makes the entire trial and sentencing feel like a waste of time. He also shared his fears that Lecka might go on to harm more children once she is back in Poland.
Liberal Democrat MP Munira Wilson and law professor Sarah Singer have both criticized the policy. Singer noted that the government seems to be prioritizing the removal of foreigners over actual criminal justice, likely as a way to deal with overcrowded prisons.
