A jury has found Tomy Carranza-Ladry guilty of second-degree murder in the death of 18-month-old Dylan. The jury rejected the defendant's claims that his actions were caused by alcohol, exhaustion, and a panic attack. Prosecutors argued that his story failed to explain the child’s severe skull fractures, which occurred in December 2023 at a daycare center. Carranza-Ladry, who worked as a daycare educator, faces an automatic sentence of life in prison. The court has yet to decide how many years he must serve before he is eligible to apply for parole.
