The Administrative Labour Tribunal has ruled in favor of the FIQ nursing union regarding a complaint against Santé Québec and several healthcare facilities for interfering with union activities. The tribunal criticized Santé Québec for a lack of diligence after the employer failed to pay nurses their bonuses on time, a move that breached the collective agreement signed in December 2024.

Santé Québec has been ordered to stop these obstructive practices and must pay $50,000 in punitive damages to the FIQ. Administrative Judge Myriam Bédard ruled that while the employer blamed the delays on programming issues, the failure to pay still violated the union's right of association. She noted that these delays damaged the FIQ's credibility with its members, making it appear ineffective at enforcing its own contract.
