Canada Post has granted shipping contracts to trucking companies that exploit drivers through low-pay schemes. An investigation by La Presse confirms that the Crown corporation has used at least four companies known for these practices, with roughly 20 such contractors hired since 2015. Two of these firms were involved in serious accidents, including one that was fatal. Canada Post claims it has no connection to this business model and requires its suppliers to follow a formal code of conduct. However, the postal service refused to testify about the matter before a parliamentary committee.
